Babur
1483–1530
Babur was a Timurid prince from Fergana who lost and regained Samarkand, then turned south into India. At Panipat in 1526 he met Ibrahim Lodi with a wagon fort and field artillery. His memoir, the Baburnama, is the main first-person account of that campaign.
