Mehmed II
1432–1481
Mehmed II became Ottoman sultan for a second time determined to take Constantinople. In 1453 he brought a large train of cannon against the Theodosian walls and moved ships overland into the Golden Horn. The fall of the city made it the Ottoman capital.
