Horatio Nelson
1758–1805
Nelson was a British naval officer who lost an arm and the sight of an eye in earlier actions and still went to sea. At the Nile in 1798 he attacked the French fleet at anchor in Aboukir Bay. At Trafalgar in 1805 he was killed on his own quarterdeck as the fleets engaged.
