Oda Nobunaga
1534–1582
Nobunaga was a daimyo of Owari who broke the military balance of the Sengoku period. At Nagashino in 1575 he and Tokugawa Ieyasu met the Takeda cavalry with massed arquebusiers behind palisades. He was killed at Honno-ji before the country was unified.
