Vercingetorix

Vercingetorix was an Arvernian noble who drew several Gallic peoples into a coalition against Caesar in 52 BCE. He favoured a strategy of denying the Romans supplies, then shut himself in the hill town of Alesia. After the siege he was taken to Rome and later executed.
