Siege of Yorktown

In autumn 1781, American and French troops under George Washington and the Comte de Rochambeau enclosed a British army under Cornwallis at Yorktown, Virginia, while a French fleet held the Chesapeake. The siege is the closing land campaign of the American Revolutionary War.
